Abstract
Call for papers: Special Issue dedicated to the work of V.M. Rusalov
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue is dedicated to Prof. Vladimir M. Rusalov (1939–2023), a renowned differential psychophysiologist and psychologist. Prof. Rusalov pioneered an activity-specific approach in the structure of temperament, experimentally proving a necessity to distinguish between the traits related to social (communicative) and physical (motor) aspects of behavioural regulation. His Structure of Temperament Questionnaire (STQ) resulted from his extensive use of psychophysiological and psychological methods, became one of the most popular tests in Russia and other countries in 1980-90s. It has been translated to four languages, including the validation in American and Australian samples. The restructuring and validation of the STQ in line with modern neurochemistry resulted in the Compact version of the STQ (STQ-77), adopted to 24 languages and cultures. Prof. Rusalov developed several other tests and was also interested in psychophysiology and assessment of cognitive processes and abilities. His invaluable scholarly contributions to differential psychology have left an extraordinary mark on the field, and this Special Issue provides a timely opportunity to pay tribute to him.
